User Role Editor 3.3

I published today version 3.3 of “User Role Editor” WordPress plugin. What’s new in this version?
– New role can be created as a copy of other existing one.
– You can hide/show deprecated capabilties (level_1 – level_10).
– Users with “Administrator” role are not shown to other users with “list_users” capability.
– Plugin data cleanup is added – plugin options will be automatically deleted if you delete plugin via WordPress link.
– Some code enhancements are applied, e.g. optimization and using of WordPress API instead of self-written routine.

Next update, version .1.8 is available for Silence is Golden Guard WordPress plugin.

What’s new?
– Arabic translation is added. Thanks to mr. Ahmad;
– shinephp.com news section was removed from plugin’s Settings page, which should decrease this page load time.

Some part of work on version 2.0 was done, some part is left to do. I’m rewriting code almost from scratch. Some new features will be added to make your loving WordPress blog more silent 🙂 in relation of its security. Look for updates in month or two.

New feature is added to version 3.2: if you run multi-site WordPress network, User Role Editor will automatically duplicate all roles from the main blog (blog with mininal ID) to every new created blog.
Some fixes, refactoring and logic change were applied to code to enhance its productivity. There were some complaints for PHP timeout error after trying to open plugin Settings page.
Thanks to Grant Norwood for code fix to hide PHP warnings he met during plugin usage.

Version 3.2 of “User Role Editor” WordPress plugin is near to its release. I invite you to participate in testing cycle. If you have testing WordPress installation, please help to test this version in order to exclude bugs before send it to WordPress repository. I tested it at my developing environment, for single site and multi-site WordPress installations. Be sure however, that you have fresh backup copy of your WordPress database before setup this early version on the production site.
What’s new in version 3.2?
– According to suggestions of multi-site WordPress networks owners “User Role Editor” will automatically duplicate roles from the main blog to every new created blog. Thus, there is not necessary to copy every custom added, modified role from the main blog to the new created one manually.

Version 3.1 of User Role Editor WordPress plugin is published. New features are:
– add new capability box;
– delete unused capability (except core WordPress capabilities) box;
– assign capabilities direct to user additionally to the role assigned to him;
– PHP4 is not supported by this plugin anymore. Update your site to PHP5 in order to use this plugin and near to release WordPress 3.2 🙂
– minor bugs and compatibility with other plugins fixes.

User Role Editor WordPress plugin version 3.1 is ready for beta testing. You are welcome! What new things are added to plugin functionality:
– add new capability box;
– delete unused capability (except core WordPress capabilities) box;
– assign capabilities direct to user additionally to the role assigned to him;
– minor bugs and compatibility with other plugins fixes.
I plan to publish it at wordpress.org plugins repository in a week or two period of beta testing.

Plugins Language Switcher version 1.2

Plugins Admin Interface Language Switcher

27th December 2010, Plugins Language Switcher version 1.2 is published and available for downloads. The main change is that plugin is multi-user now. Every user with administrator privileges can select its own language to work with plugins.
Uninstall function is added. Plugin deletes its data from the WordPress database automatically when you delete it via WordPress ‘Delete’ link in the ‘Plugins’ submenu.
Plugin is tested with WordPress versions 3.0.3 and 3.1.
