Silence is Golden Guard WordPress plugin v. 1.4. update

Silence is golden guard plugin is updated

SIG GUARD Updated

Next update v.1.4 is available for Silence is Golden Guard WordPress plugin. Checking if index.php file is SIG Guard plugin made file and can be rewritten is updated/enhanced in try to exclude rare cases when SIG Guard rewrites important index.php file, e.g. in the current theme folder. SIG Guard own stamp string verification is added. File with more than 4 rows will not be changed too.
This update is critical for new plugin users only.
Note to former users: if you wish to rebuild all your dummy SIG index.php files you need to delete that files manually before click “Rebuild All” button. As old index.php file does not contain SIG Guard stamp string, plugin should not update such file.

  • I'm sorry about your problem with this plugin. According to your message it seems that redirection problem I have mentioned still is not resolved. To restore your site work you need to rewrite new index.php file in your blog wp-conten/themes/ directory to the original one which you must have in backup copy as I asked to make before trying this plugin.
I could try to fix this serious redirection problem with my plugin with your help if it is suitable for you of course. The main problem is that I can not reproduce this nor at my test sites neither here at shinephp.com
So if you let me to check how plugin works at your site and find the decision I'm very appreciate it. But I need ftp and admin access to your blog to complete this task…

    hello Vladimir…. thankX 4 replying & no need 2 sorry! after awl u r develping a gud plugin 4 us…
i forgt 2 tak backup… & for som reasons i cnt provid ftp access sum other partner blogs working on same http://ftp.. hope u cn understnd my problem !!!

  • Yes, I understand. We will catch the index.php rewriting bug somehow, somewhere… and fix it.
I see your site is working now and guess that you fixed redirection problem already.
If you have desire to give SIG plugin another try it still can work for you. Just setup folders exclusion with it. Check the boxes for folders where you have critical index.php files. And try SIG again.
    Good Luck!

    ys site is working!!!
bt still unable to access /wp-admin/
(Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete)

ys i 'LL definitely wann 2 plugin again but after getting Admin Panel back & backup done 🙂

how to get into Admin panel back !!!

  • Check index.php in the wp-admin folder. If it is SIG created one (4 rows only) rewrite it with wp-admin/index.php file from WordPress installation package. You should get it from the installation with exactly same WP version which you use for your blog.

  • Rename .htaccess file and check if it will help. SIG just added 1 line to htaccess to block directory indexing / file listing
    Options -Indexes
Can you send your .htaccess to my email vladimir[at]shinephp.com ? I will try it directly on my test site.
Are you sure with /wp-admin/index.php file content? FireFox redirecting message I see when trying yoursite/wp-admin/ address tells me that index.php in that folder possibly contains redirection directive to the same folder. And we have endless loop as the result.

thankx 4 reply….already chekd dat…yday…its the index of wordpress i.e. not SIG created…i think problem is related htaccess its redirecting the admin link or something !!!

  • desting

    i sent u mail with both htaccess & index.php of wp-admin
so u cn sort out the issue ..thankx

  • Yes! I repeated your problem with no site access at my test host . It occurs if site uses WP Super Cache.
I looked at your .htaccess and discovered that you use it. After WP Super Cache was installed and activated I received exactly same problem with redirection loop.
    What's now?
1st, I will restore my test site access and then share with you how to do that.
2nd, I will search a solution to force SIG plugin work correctly with WP Super Cache installed.

Thank you very much for your help in this problem isolation. I hope it will need much time to find the solution.

  • Solution:
    go to the
    /wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/plugins/
folder and remove index.php from there. Check your blog admin back-end access. Have you? Please confirm if it resolves your problem too.
