It will be very helpfull to know what problem did you have with plugin activation. Any error messages? Possibly you have not enough privileges with your MySQL database. If you achieved the success please let know about it. It is interesting to me and can be useful for other potential plugin users.

I don’t see as browser send AJAX request after thanks button click. AJAX request returns empty string as the result immediately. That’s strange. It seems that we have some JQuery usage conflict here.
I see that your blog theme uses many JQuery plugins or extensions. Is this theme available for download somewhere in order I can try it in my test environment with TYCB plugin together?

  • barbarosa

sorry i buy this theme. Not free.:(

  • http://shinephp.com Vladimir Garagulya

I understood. If you left thanks button on this page only for some time (turn off auto-insertion of thanks button and insert [thankyou] shourtcode to this post) I will try to isolate the problem with data I can see already. It could take a few days though…

    ok.i did manualy.

In your case browser sends ‘OPTIONS’ requests when you click ‘thanks’ button, but it should be ‘POST’ request. This way FireFox prevents cross-domain attacks. You can see this thread for more details
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1099787/jquery-ajax-post-sending-options-as-requestmethod-in-firefox/
I’m sorry but it seems that TYCB plugin will not work under your site environment.

hello Vladimir, first of all, great plugin!
is it possible to place thanks buttons directly into my theme (I’m interested to place it in post’s metabox or date box)?

some shortcode like would help a lot.

    спасибо!

  • http://shinephp.com Vladimir Garagulya

Yes, It is possible. You need to check “Manual” checkbox at the TYCB plugin options page and place
“echo thanks_button();” somewhere at your theme. For this time it uses post ID attribute so it is no sense to put button beyond the post or page. I plan to add a global (for all blog) counter parameter to this function to make it usable anywhere, not in posts or pages only. It will be done this weekend, possibly.

Is there a shortcode or function I can call to display the number of “thanks” on the current post. For example, I wish to put somewhere on my post: “12 people have thanked the author for this post.” What function or shortcode would I need to pull this number from the database?

  • http://shinephp.com Vladimir Garagulya

There is no shortcode for this purpose, as this value is shown on a button itself. This PHP function getThanksQuant($postId) from plugin’s staff will return you desired quant of thanks for post with ID in $postId parameter.

Hello. I Like your plugin, but in my site button doesn’t show well…my template is a “all ajax loaded”. is there a way to avoid conflict? Thank You

    Hi Barbara,

Is this theme free? Please send its download link.

    Regards,
    Vladimir.
